Without proper containment, it can reach groundwater, contaminating underground aquifers that can serve as a source of drinking water. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concern about these factors is essential, as pollution from cemeteries can directly affect the quality of drinking water and public health, as well as posing an ecological risk to the soil and nearby ecosystems. \u00b9<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to amines, necrochorume can carry other dangerous pollutants, such as heavy metals from coffins, embalming fluids and pathogenic microorganisms capable of transmitting diseases such as hepatitis and typhoid fever.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Environmental legislation for cemeteries in Brazil<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concern about the polluting potential of cemeteries has led to the creation of specific regulations.
