In recent years, the debate on <\/span>PFAS<\/b> (per- and polyfluoroalkylated substances) has gained momentum around the world, moving from being a topic restricted to science to becoming a <\/span>regulatory, legal and social issue<\/b>.       Although Brazil does not have specific legislation on PFAS in place, signs of change are evident:<\/span><\/p>

      • The new version of <\/span>NBR 10004 from ABNT<\/b>effective as of 2025, already <\/span>includes specific updates on PFAS<\/b> in the classification of hazardous solid waste.<\/span>
