The Cerrado Project, Suzano Papel e Celulose’s new undertaking, will be the largest pulp and paper mill in the world and also the most eco-efficient in terms of low carbon emissions, especially due to the significant reduction in the use of fossil fuels.

The EP Group is proud to be part of this great project and, through its technical staff and know-how of more than 47 years, has implemented and operates the provisional ETE, which will serve the project throughout the construction period and treat all the effluent generated by more than 10,000 workers on the site.

The new ETE, recently commissioned, is sized to treat up to 2400 m³/day of sewage and fit the treated water into the legal parameters for discharge into the river.

The system is composed of pre-treatment for solids removal, a lift station, aeration ponds, and a settling pond. For final disinfection of the water, there is automatic chlorine dosing and control. The system operates fully automatic and is PLC controlled.
