What is the batch process (SBR)?

SBR is a biological treatment system that uses reaction tanks operated in sequential cycles. Each cycle includes phases of filling, reaction, sedimentation, decantation and rest.

How the SBR works:

Filling phase

The effluent is added to the tank.

Reaction phase

The effluent is aerated to promote the biological decomposition of pollutants.

Sedimentation phase

Aeration is stopped and the solids settle.

Decanting phase

Treated water is removed.

Resting phase

The tank is prepared for the next cycle.
