Since 2014, Grupo EP has been recycling the plastic caps used in its laboratories and turning this collection into social action. More than 2.4 tons of plastic have already been correctly and purposefully disposed of.
Sustainability starts in the laboratory
At Grupo EP, acting with environmental responsibility is part of our business. As a company specializing in water and wastewater treatment, we deal with the challenge of reducing environmental impacts on a daily basis. And this doesn’t just happen in large operations, it also starts with internal routines, within our own laboratories.
One of these initiatives is the collection and donation of the plastic caps used in our analyses and laboratory processes. What could be discarded becomes raw material for recycling and, at the same time, a resource for a social cause.
+2.4 tons: the number that tells a story
Since 2014, Grupo EP has been sorting, storing and correctly disposing of all the plastic caps used in the laboratory.
Over the years, this continuous effort has resulted in:

More than a number, this volume represents consistency: small actions, repeated every day, with an accumulated environmental and social impact over time.
The partnership with the NGO A História Mais Bonita
Currently, the caps collected are donated to the NGO A História Mais Bonita, a non-profit organization founded in 2016 by “Captain” Valéria Albuquerque, with a strong presence in Guarulhos (SP).
História Mais Bonita ‘s mission is to invest in actions that strengthen education and culture as real tools for improving the emotional and physical health of vulnerable children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.
Among the NGO’s fronts are:
- Storytelling and humanized listening;
- Community libraries in public schools and outlying areas;
- Education and culture actions aimed at vulnerable groups.
The aim of the project is to encourage recognition of the beauty of each beneficiary’s personal journey, encouraging them to become protagonists of their own stories and agents of change in society.
Why this action matters to the EP Group
More than just a recycling program, this initiative translates into practice three commitments that guide our actions:

- Social – support for initiatives that increase access to education, culture and hospitality.
